Fujifilm has raised the Japanese price of the X100VI as part of a broader domestic pricing revision that took effect October 1, citing higher component, manufacturing, and logistics costs.
The X100VI’s Japanese price increased by approximately 12 percent. Fujifilm also raised prices for the X-T50, X-E5, GFX100 II, GFX100S II, GFX100RF, selected kits, and lenses, with increases ranging from roughly 6 to 15 percent depending on the product.
There is no corresponding U.S. or European price increase at the time of writing, and Fujifilm has not announced changes to the X100VI’s specifications. This is a Japanese pricing adjustment, not a new version of the camera.
The immediate question is whether Fujifilm’s domestic increase is isolated, or the first sign of wider international price changes.
A Japanese MSRP increase does not require matching changes elsewhere. Currencies, local taxes, distributor agreements, existing inventory, and regional demand can all produce different outcomes. Higher manufacturing or logistics costs may also take time to reach markets supplied through existing inventory.
For now, there is no indication of when, or whether, Fujifilm will raise U.S. or European prices. The next meaningful signal would be an updated regional price list or notice from Fujifilm.
The X100VI is an unusual case because it remains difficult to buy at retail in many markets, while resale listings have often exceeded its U.S. MSRP.
A higher official Japanese price does not directly reset American or European used values. It may, however, narrow the gap between Fujifilm’s official pricing and what some buyers are already willing to pay, reinforcing the perception that the camera is unlikely to become easier to buy at its original price.
That leaves two questions for prospective buyers: could the Japanese increase push the X100VI’s already high used value further upward, and would a later U.S. or European MSRP increase validate those higher resale prices? Neither outcome is confirmed.
Fujifilm has made the X100VI more expensive in Japan without changing the product. Whether that stays a domestic correction or becomes a wider international pricing move will matter more to buyers than the increase itself.
