Canon has announced the EOS R6 Mark III, a full-frame mirrorless camera designed for professionals and advanced hybrid creators who move fluidly between stills and video. Building on Canon’s 5-series and 1-series legacy, the R6 Mark III brings a new 32.5-megapixel sensor, faster performance, and video features that make it one of the most capable midrange cameras Canon has produced.
Canon says the R6 Mark III is built for creators spanning portrait, event, wildlife, and social content production, offering a balance of professional capability and portability.
The EOS R6 Mark III will be available in November 2025 starting at $2,799 body-only, with several kit options.
Canon’s R6 line has long aimed to be the hybrid workhorse for creators who want flagship reliability in a smaller form. Until now, the Nikon Z6III, released last year, had arguably pulled ahead in this segment with its speed, dynamic range, and advanced video pipeline. The R6 Mark III finally gives Canon users a comparable option, slightly pricier but offering strong specs and a proven color profile.
How it is received will depend on real-world performance and thermal management, but on paper this is the most capable mid-tier full-frame Canon has built yet. For hybrid shooters deciding between Nikon and Canon, the competition is now as close as ever and Canon continues to show their excellence.
