Staff Verdict

The Nikon Z6 III represents a significant step forward for Nikon's mid-range mirrorless lineup. With its new partially stacked sensor, it finally feels like a competitor in the modern mirrorless-hybird market.

The new sensor design provides excellent readout speeds, enabling high-speed continuous shooting and reducing rolling shutter in video mode. The improved AF system with subject detection makes it much more capable for action photography compared to its predecessor.

Pros
  • Excellent autofocus almost on par with Z9 and Z8
  • Class-leading video specs at the price-point
  • Great low light performance and noise quality
Cons
  • Has one CF-Express slot and one SD slot instead of 2 CF-Express slots
Who it's for

Hybrid shooters who need professional level photography as well as video capabilities

Not for

Those shooting mostly editorial content that will be printed, or dedicated wildlife and sports photographers who need extra megapixels.
