Staff Verdict
The AF-S 50mm 1.8G is an excellent and budget friendly full frame 50mm prime lens option for F-Mount. As possibly one of Nikon's best selling lenses ever, it has such good value that there's almost no reason to even look at any of the pricier options unless you're a professional looking for the most performance.
It offers great value by being excellent where needed, and weaker where it matters least. Most of the flaws are in areas that most people would never notice in typical use (corner performance wide-open, and close focusing image quality).
